Reflection on Waiwera Thermal Resort And Spa
I was quite excited when I read the instruction for task 5 because I love visiting places and Auckland has so much to offer. I decided to take a trip to waiwera thermal resort and spa. Before I went there, I did some research on the internet and found some information on waiwera pools. I planned my trip and called and ask about the opening hours and entry fees. The trip over to waiwera mineral pool was amazing it took about 55km from New Lynn.I was so happy to be up early enjoying the day with my family. We arrived at the pool and went inside and paid our entry fees took some pictures .While I was taking the pictures I met a life guard and asked him I would like to interview and make 2 minute video with him about the pool, so he told me you talk to my general Manager his name is David Kidd and he arrange the time the with him.
After an hour I met him in his office and made a video with him he who was very kind. He told me the history of Waiwera , such as indigenous maori travelled to waiwera to heal themselves in waiwera therapeutic warm waters, after the heated tribal battle. And he told me that waiwera translated from the maori language, which means hot water, but it healed so many people that many says to it as 'Te RATA'(The Doctor)The special healing powers of waiwera water came to be known far and wide.Even David told me waiwera has been famous since 1848 for the therapeutic and curative properties of the water and became recognised as the first spa in the southern Hemisphere in 1863.I asked him about the reflection pool he told about that pool and he told three groups of people comes here everyday first older generation then children and last the young generation and so much more which you can watch on my blog.
That was my experiences about the pool and it was very interesting and challenging, because I went some where that I have never been before and my family was with me specially my children. There had chance to use the pool. This task was easy because I found so much information. I WOULD LIKE TO THANK MY FAMILY AND MY TEACHER FOR ALL YOU HELP
